Sara Bedell, OTR
MAOT, ConTiGO Appraoch Certified
Co-Founder, Nature Bound Kids OT

After earning her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, Sara began her career in a pediatric outpatient clinic, providing individualized occupational therapy services and facilitating social skills groups for children with a wide range of developmental needs. She later transitioned to the public school setting, where she spent three years collaborating with educators and families to support students' participation and success in the classroom.

Sara now practices in a Montessori school, where she has developed a passion for helping children build self-regulation, executive functioning, social participation, sensory processing, and independence through meaningful, child-centered experiences. Working across clinic, school, and Montessori environments has given her a unique perspective on supporting children in the settings where they learn, play, and grow every day.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young boys. Whether they're riding bikes, hiking local trails, exploring parks, or creating art together, she values the simple moments that foster curiosity, confidence, and connection with nature. These experiences continue to inspire both her parenting and her approach to occupational therapy.

For more than six years, Chrissy has supported a wide range of clients across preschool settings, acute rehabilitation, outpatient rehab, stroke recovery, and broader neurological rehabilitation. She is certified in ConTiGo Outdoor Occupational Therapy and the UCLA Peers social skills program. Her clinical approach is grounded in empathy, clear communication, and a deep appreciation for each person’s strengths and goals. Chrissy is also the parent of an autistic child, an experience that shapes her practice with insight, humility, and a strong commitment to family‑centered care. She brings both professional knowledge and lived understanding to her work, creating therapeutic environments where individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Our Story

Nature Bound Kids Occupational Therapy was born from a shared passion between two occupational therapists, Sara and Chrissy. As colleagues, friends, and parents, we found ourselves drawn to the same belief: children thrive when given the space to build skills, develop friendships, learn to regulate their emotions, and grow in confidence through meaningful outdoor experiences.

Today, our practice is rooted in this vision. We provide strengths-based, evidence-informed occupational therapy that integrates principles of sensory integration, co-regulation, social-emotional development, and nature-based practice. Our goal is simple: to create an authentic, joyful, and family-centered community where every child is celebrated for who they are and supported in reaching their fullest potential.
